Rental Terms

In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Inverurie, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with age restrictions varying based on vehicle type. A valid driving licence appropriate for the chosen vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Renters must also present valid identification, proof of current address, and payment information, including a security deposit. Additional requirements may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Inverurie office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document its state. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, aside from normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns could result in extra fees, so please inform us immediately if you anticipate a delay. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that occur during your rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental from Car Hire in Inverurie. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in your Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is in place. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise details. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden, as is exceeding passenger or weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breaching these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Inverurie is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for rentals in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
Inverurie Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively within the jurisdiction of Scottish courts.
